  • When is Out of Hand Modern Market 2026?

  • Where is Out of Hand Modern Market?

    At the Crystal Garden, located at 713 Douglas St. behind the Empress Hotel, where you’ll find two stories of holiday shopping.

  • How do I get tickets?
    • Online –  through our website beginning October 1, 2026
    • In Person – at the door during event hours.
    • All single day tickets can be upgraded to weekend passes for no additional charge!
  • Where can I park?

    We recommend the Broughton Street parkade just two blocks from venue. Parking is $12.50/day and free on Sunday.

  • What makers will be there?

  • Can I bring my dog to Out of Hand?

    Out of Hand Modern Market takes place inside the Crystal Garden at the Victoria Conference Centre. The Victoria Conference Centre does not permit animals inside the facility. Certified guide/service dogs are always permitted.

  • Do Support Workers or Care Aids need to buy tickets?

    Support Workers and Care Aids (ages 18+) do not need to purchase a ticket if they are actively working and accompanying a person with a disability. All attendees must have a ticket; however, complimentary tickets for Support Workers are available. These can be claimed in person at the box office for same-day entry.

  • Can I leave and come back?

    Yes! If you’d like to return, just pick up a complimentary Weekend Pass from our Customer Service team as you exit the building. Your pass will allow you to come and go throughout the weekend.

  • How do I get a Weekend Pass?

    Weekend Passes can be obtained, free of charge, from our Customer Service team as you exit the Crystal Garden. These passes are non-transferable and allow you to return as many times as you like throughout the weekend.

    To re-enter with your Weekend Pass:

    • Use the Online Ticket & Weekend Pass Entry line (wait times may vary depending on when you arrive).
    • Have your Weekend Pass scanned.
    • Present a piece of photo ID that matches the name on your pass.

    There is no additional fee for a weekend pass! Weekend Passes can only be obtained as you leave the Crystal Gardens or at our Info Booth on the main floor. 

     

  • What methods of payment are available?

    For online ticket sales, we accept all major credit cards. For in-person ticket sales on Market Days, we accept all major credit cards, debit, and cash.

  • Is the Crystal Garden accessible / wheelchair friendly?

    Yes! The Crystal Garden is a wheelchair-accessible environment.

    • Wheelchair Accessible Washrooms:
      • Main floor: one designated accessible washroom with an automatic door.
      • Mezzanine: one accessible washroom (no automatic door).
      • All accessible stalls feature accessible sinks and automatic door openers (where available).
      • A lift at the north end of the main floor provides access to the lower washrooms. 
    • Elevator: An elevator in the entrance foyer provides access to all levels, including the mezzanine—don’t miss the makers located on the second floor! 
    • Entrance Doors: During Market hours, the entrance doors on Douglas Street will be held open for easy access. 
    • Parking: Accessible parking is available across the street at the Victoria Conference Centre parkade (11 designated stalls on Level 1). There is no dedicated parking at the Crystal Gardens.
  • Are there places to sit down while I shop?

    Yes! Comfortable seating areas are available throughout the second (mezzanine) level, providing a place to rest and recharge while you enjoy the Market.

  • How do I enter to win a door prize?

    Enter to win one of our fabulous gift boxes filled with items donated by Out of Hand makers! To participate, simply fill out a ballot at our Info Booth in the centre of the main floor.

    • Draws take place throughout the day.
    • Winners will be contacted at the phone number provided on their ballot.
    • You do not need to be present to win. 
  • Where can I lock up my bike?

    There are bicycle racks available around the Victoria conference Centre for use at the owner’s risk. There are a total of 20 racks which can accommodate a combined 59 bicycles. Four of these racks (accommodating 21 bicycles) are in the underground Parkade across the street from the Crystal Gardens. All other racks are outside of the Conference Centre at street level, to the south and east sides of the building.

  • Is there a lost and found?

    During the Market, anything that is turned in as lost and found can be collected at our Information booth located in the centre of the main floor. Once the market is over, please contact the Victoria Conference Centre Client Services Team at 250-361-1011, with the date you lost or found the item, a description of the item and your contact information. Lost and Found items will be recorded and held by the Victoria Conference Centre for a period of 90 days.
