Glass artisan Sarah Mulligan has been working in glass for 20 years. It all began as a happy accident when a wrong turn landed her in the School of Craft and Design building at Sheridan College where she discovered the hot glass studio. That day she switched from Interior Design to Glass and has not looked back since. Upon graduation Sarah held a 4 year resident artist position at the Living Arts Center in Mississauga, Ontario. It was there she continued to hone her skills, teach, and demonstrate glass blowing to the general public.
But is was a trip to visit her sister in Vancouver which brought her to the West Coast and where she fell in love with beautiful Victoria BC. With no job, home, or studio to speak of, she gave up everything, packed up the car and headed west. Since 2005 Sarah has proudly called Victoria her home. Working in studios both on Vancouver Island and the mainland she continues to evolve as an artisan by working with other established glass artists, experimenting with natural materials and developing her own body of work. Sarah is both a lone wolf and queen bee of her business and aspires to create design with clean lines, a modern sensibility and quality craftsmanship.
