I love the idea of sending love and kindness through the mail, just letting someone know you are thinking of them: handwritten, on real paper. I guess it’s the idea of sharing art, emotion, a bit of kindness.
I love spending my time making cards knowing I could make someone laugh or smile.
Some of my greeting cards are beautiful, fashion-forward illustrations that pair nicely with dark humour. I like to think of them as sartorial satire. Other cards are inspired by folk art, embroidery design and global textiles, and these illustrations flow out of a love of fabric patterns. And I also fuse some of my illustrations with inspiring and thoughtful quotes from writers and thinkers from the past and present.
I’ve always been influenced and fascinated by art history. I find reaching back in time for inspiration helps me celebrate the continuum of creativity and human endeavour.
My cards are for friends and lovers and to help mark those special occasions and events we celebrate in life.
I make Newfolk&Cabin cards so you can send love, send art, send happy.
