I am a visual arts educator who has been a practising artist for many years. While my primary focus is inspiring students to create, I dabble in a variety of art forms.
I came to art in highschool when my best friend passed away in a car accident. Visual arts was my safe haven and offered me the ability to escape amidst all the chaos. At this time I developed anxiety that stayed with me into my adulthood. Now, art is a coping mechanism for the anxieties of daily life.
This traumatic loss inspired me to work with students and offer art as a safe haven for others. I hope to use my creativity to inspire others to create, thus finding their own safe haven.
