Nestled on a sunny hillside in Kelowna British Columbia, rests the Crow’s Nest Art Studio, home to multidisciplinary artist Megan MacDonald.
Northern California native, MacDonald grew up surrounded by art and creative inspiration. At a young age, she moved to Vancouver, B.C. where she was exposed to a new realm of inspiration which tremendously influenced her later work.
In her early 20’s, MacDonald attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design. During her time at Emily Carr she studied painting, drawing and interdisciplinary art. Additionally, she studied in-depth colour studies under the tutelage of Tom Hudson.
Though out her career, she has continued to explore a variety of mediums among them acrylics, book arts and collage.
MacDonald is draw to natural and organic forms, the energy of hand drawn lines and the alchemy that occurs with the convergence of natural elements.
In 2019, MacDonald and her family relocated from the West Coast to the Interior of B.C., now calling Kelowna Home. Today, her focus is primarily centred on encaustic, encaustic mono printing and mixed media assemblage.
An award winning artist, MacDonald’s work has been in juried exhibitions both regionally and nationally. Her work can be found in numerous private collections around the globe.
